Why Would You Say (2015 Remix)

from Top of the Camp by Andrew Kelley

/

about

Recorded on a Friday Night in my bedroom in early November 2008, I express my distress and frustration toward my parents, as they pushed me to strive for good grades in Sophomore year, while my mind was elsewhere.

Re-Mixed, Mastered in 2015, then continually in limbo through various mixing stages, you can hear a pitch-corrected version I recorded.

Back in Early 2015, I re-activated Record Producer Deluxe and pulled the stems from the original project, so I could re-mix it into what you hear now. While the melodies and chord progressions are the same (Original Guitar and Synth tracks included), the difference is astounding.
lyrics

lyrics

I take one up, I take one back
These thoughts in my mind, fight and attack
These understood statements keep holding me still
The things that I tell you, boy are they shrill

Why would you say, these things are bad?
The truth is that I am, actually glad

I stop for a second, I look around
The horrible stories got you on the ground
I'm very displeased for what I get
I just can't help it, I often forget

Why would you say, these horrible lies?
The ones that keep me up all weekday night

Why would you say these things are bad?
The truth is that I am actually glad
Why would you say these horrible lies?
The ones that keep me up all weekday night
